MMAPA partners with Better Medicare Alliance to further Medicare Advantage advocacy and awareness for Puerto Rico

(San Juan – June 10, 2025) The Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Products Association (MMAPA) joined forces with Better Medicare Alliance (BMA) to further advocacy efforts for Medicare Advantage program in Puerto Rico. BMA is a unique coalition of stakeholders who care about Medicare Advantage that boasts hundreds of beneficiaries, caregivers, health plans, physicians, hospitals, advocacy and aging organizations.

MMAPA Chair, Ricardo Rivera Cardona, stated that “We look forward to working with BMA to highlight the value of Medicare Advantage as the part of Medicare that delivers integrated, high-quality, and affordable health coverage. Beneficiaries in Puerto Rico consistently choose Medicare Advantage for its enhanced benefits, affordability, simplicity, and strong care coordination. It is our mission in MMAPA to advocate for the adequate funding to continue to provide access and quality healthcare services for the more than 600,000 beneficiaries that rely on MA to receive services on the island.”
