MMAPA Participates in Multisector Healthcare Dialogue

Representing Medicaid & Medicare Advantage Products Association of Puerto Rico (MMAPA), I participated in the first meeting of the Multisector Health Committee convened by Governor Jenniffer González Colón. We welcome this initiative with enthusiasm and a strong sense of commitment, confident that it can make a meaningful difference for the more than 1.3 million people—including thousands of children—who rely on the Medicaid program to access healthcare and essential services in Puerto Rico. As was the case in 2022, it is encouraging to see all sectors of the healthcare system and the business community gathered at the same table, united by a shared purpose. When we work together, Puerto Rico shows its ability to achieve important and lasting change,” said Solange De Lahongrais, President of MMAPA.

For the past 17 years, the Medicaid & Medicare Advantage Products Association of Puerto Rico (MMAPA) has remained firmly committed to advocating for fair and adequate funding for these essential programs. Together, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage account for nearly 60% of the resources that sustain Puerto Rico’s health care system and make it possible for thousands of families to receive the care they need. Today, MMAPA reaffirms its mission and places at the service of the Multisector Health Committee the knowledge, experience, and dedication of the professionals working within health plans—individuals who go the extra mile every day to protect the health and well-being of our communities.
